The best out of all folders.
Exception:  'Narrowly Unmarginal' (Because these aren’t representive of the group actually)

Absolute Magnitude
Above all Photos which have mainly & widespreaded white tonal values or such, which don’t deviate more than 10% from these.
Which means tonal values till approximately RGB 3x230 are in the framework of the allowable. All occurring shapes ought to exhibit as little as possible structures & textures.
Preferably they should stand out as black tonal values (10% tolerance) from the white 'grounding'.
Principially it is desirable to use pure contours as formative & shaping medium.
Of course local deviations (shades, …) are permissible or in other words: they are necessary.
Because precisely those - in their discreet appearance – reflect the aim of the group, to abstract as much as possible without eliminating the essential.

Total Eclipse
Negative of 'Absolute Magnitude'.

Here you will find images, which do not indicate a clear dominance of dark or bright tonal values.
This could be for example wide  self-contained areas but also fine structures (like…).

For photos, whose histogram shows already stronger deviations.
Photos with for MarginalPeaks’ conditions distinct gradients, a stronger deviation in grey tones (locally, e.g. at lips…) and photos into the direction of… fall into this category.

Tutorials, informations, etc.

Narrowly Unmarginal
For photos, which are slightly beyound our range of tolerance.
Examples: extensive peaks in the range of the middle tonal values, clear structure like in… .
Essential condition: It must be in any concern excellent photos. Such photos from it would be a sad, if they would miss our heavy limitations.

>>About MP<<

:police: Before you submit anything be sure to read 'MP:Attributes of MarginalPeaks'.

MP is a group that tries to collect art out of a very narrow field of photographie.

#MarginalPeaks aims at a sub-kind of B&W-Photography, that reveals it's peculiarity in the histogram. Photos you'll see in our Gallery have at least one distinct peak in proximity to absolute white or black or both, whereas the rest of the tonal values has low intensity.

Ideal, e.g. a 2x1Px image with 1Px black and the other white, would exactly have two peaks, in the form of vertical lines. In 'reality' such histograms do not exist, but the deviation from this ideal histogram shouldn't be too great.

Shades are permissible, if they are locally heavily limited (e.g. shape modeling) and don't occur as extensive gradients with more than 10% differential.
